With a new Remembered feature, you can ask Gemini to remember where you placed everyday items and save that information in Google Find Hub. Later, you can ask Gemini where you kept the item or open the Remembered section in Find Hub to check the saved details.

What Is Google Find Hub’s Remembered Feature?
Google Find Hub has traditionally been used to locate devices, accessories and other items that have tracking support.
The new Remembered feature takes a different approach.
Instead of physically tracking an item with a tracker tag, you can simply tell Gemini where you put it.
For example, you could say:
“Hey Google, remember in Find Hub that I put my passport in my bedroom drawer.”
Gemini can save that information so you can check it later.
You can also add an optional photo and additional details to make the saved information easier to recognize.
What Can You Use It For?
The feature is particularly useful for things that you don’t normally attach a tracker to.
For example, you could use it to remember where you kept:
- Passport
- Spare keys
- Important documents

Once you’ve saved an item, you have two main ways to find the information again.
Ask Gemini
You can simply ask Gemini something like:
“Where did I put my passport?”
If the information has been saved through Find Hub’s Remembered feature, Gemini can provide the stored location.
This can be especially convenient when you’re busy and don’t want to manually search through the Find Hub app.
Open Find Hub
You can also check the information directly in the Find Hub app.
Open Find Hub and look for the Remembered tab.
Google has started rolling out this new section alongside the existing Devices and People tabs. The Remembered section uses a bookmark-style icon with a Gemini indicator.
From there, you can see the items you’ve saved and review their stored details.
You Can Add More Details to a Remembered Item
The feature isn’t limited to a simple item name and location.
The newer Find Hub interface allows you to create an entry with details such as the item’s name and storage spot. You can then add additional information, including a photo, location and notes.
For example, instead of saving:
Passport — drawer
You could make the entry more useful:
Passport — top bedroom drawer
Then add a photo or note explaining exactly which drawer you mean.
This can make a big difference when you have several similar storage locations around your home.
You Can Also Add Items Manually
Gemini isn’t the only way to create a Remembered entry.
The updated Find Hub experience also includes a Manual entry option, allowing you to add an item yourself instead of using a voice command.
This can be useful when you want to carefully enter the details or don’t want to use a voice command.
Does Find Hub Track the Item’s Actual Location?
No.
This is probably the most important thing to understand about the feature.
Remembered is essentially a digital reminder of where you said you placed something.
It does not turn an ordinary passport, key or document into a GPS-tracked object.
For example, if you save:
“Passport — bedroom drawer”
Find Hub remembers that information.
But if someone moves the passport to the kitchen, Find Hub won’t automatically detect the new location.
For objects that need real-time tracking, you’ll still need a compatible tracker or another supported Find Hub device.
What Android Phones Support It?
Google says the Remembered feature is available for Android 16 and newer devices in countries where both Gemini and Find Hub are supported.
However, availability can still vary.
Google began rolling out the feature in September 2026, and the new Remembered tab was still not widely available on every device when the rollout began. The Find Hub update containing the feature was being distributed through Google Play.
So having Android 16 doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll see the feature immediately.
What to Do If You Don’t See Remembered in Find Hub
If the Remembered tab isn’t showing on your phone, try a few basic things.
Update Find Hub
Open the Google Play Store and check whether an update is available for Find Hub.
The Remembered tab is being delivered through a Find Hub app update.
Update Gemini
Make sure the Gemini app is also updated to the latest available version.
Check Your Android Version
Go to:
Settings → About phone → Android version
The exact menu can vary between manufacturers.
Wait for the Rollout
If everything is updated but the feature still isn’t available, it may simply not have reached your device or region yet.
Feature rollouts are often gradual, so there may be nothing wrong with your phone.
Is This Better Than Using a Tracker?
It depends on what you’re trying to remember.
For something like a passport kept in a drawer, Remembered can be much simpler than attaching a tracker.
But for something that frequently moves around, a physical tracker is still more useful.

Tracker: “Where is it right now?”
The two features solve different problems.
A Simple Way to Use It at Home
One of the easiest ways to get value from Remembered is to use it for things you don’t use every day.
For example, when you put away your passport after a trip, save its location immediately.
When you store spare keys somewhere unusual, save that location too.
You could also create entries for important documents that you only need occasionally.
The idea is simple: don’t rely on your memory for something you can record in a few seconds.
Remember to Update the Entry
There’s one habit that will make the feature much more useful: update the saved location whenever you move the item.
If your passport moves from a bedroom drawer to a travel bag, change the stored information.
Otherwise, you’ll eventually ask Gemini where the passport is and get the old location.
The feature is only as useful as the information you save.
